Guest post for Xuron giveaway: Carol's refurbished bench

Today I was going to show you the things I got at the Bead&Button Show (for my mini tours, click here for the most recent one, and you can get to the others from there), but I needed a day of doing nothing.

Yesterday I told you about a giveaway I'm doing for two Xuron 4 in 1 Crimper tools.  If you'd like the details, I made up a special web page for it.  Click here to read it.  The gist is that I would like you to send me pictures and a description of a recent project you've done, and I'll post it here on the blog.  That way you get to share what you're working on, and I get a break from figuring out what to blog about every day.  After 5 full months, I'm getting tired!  :)

My first entry is a bench refurbish project that my friend Carol did.  This will give you a good idea of what I'm looking for.  Your project doesn't have to be a refurb, however.  It can be anything creative, such as jewelry, scrapbooking, knitting, tatting (psst, Marilee!), any general crafts (anything upcycled would be wonderful!), or anything else.  If you question if your project would qualify, e-mail me at traci@creative-pursuits.biz, and I'll let you know.

Now, let's look at Carol's bench!

The bench was piled up with a bunch of other clutter behind my parents' garage. It had sat there in the weather and dirt for several years. The metal was rusty, the wood was rough and the finish was mostly gone.

We took the bench apart completely. Sanded and scraped everything then primed and painted and put it back together. Voila.

It turned out great, and now Carol and Jim have a nice place to sit in their yard!

That wasn't very much, was it?  I bet you can send me something like that.  Again, click here for the details of the giveaway!

Thanks, Carol, for sending this in and for being my example!
