Blue earrings and a One Step Looper tool announcement

It's been a while since I've made a simple pair of earrings using the One Step Looper (see my review here), so I decided to do that so I could tell you about a NEW One Step Looper!

First, the earrings:

These beads came from a free bag of blue beads by Rings & Things that I got at a retreat or somewhere.  They're pretty, but the sheen on the hearts and stars makes it hard to take pictures.  Let's take a look at them from the side:

That's a bit better.  They'd match the sweater I'm wearing today perfectly and would be great for errand day.  I should have made them this morning before I left the house!  I think they'd probably go great with my new Riding the Waves necklace, too.

About the tool... I saw an ad in the newest Bead&Button magazine and said, "Ooh!  Finally!"  Beadsmith has made a One Step BIG Looper which makes 3mm loops.  That's double the size of the original looper tool!  (1.5mm for those of you having trouble with math today)  That was one of the complaints I had when I reviewed the tool, so I'm glad they've decided to have a bigger option.  It sucks that we all have to buy another tool if we want bigger loops, but it's still worth it.

The other thing I expressed concern over was the amount of bare headpin between the top bead and the loop.  I got lucky tonight - the stars' points allowed me to get in much closer than usual.  Based on reviews I read on the Rings & Things website, I think that part hasn't gotten any better, but I won't know for sure until I try them for myself.

The best price I've found so far is at Rings & Things, where it's currently $26.96.  That's a 10% off introductory price.  Once the sale is over, the price will go to $29.95 each, which is very close to the other places I've seen the tools.

I'm going to hold off getting one right now because I have a lot to do to get ready for the Meet the Teachers Reception at the Bead&Button Show (and have spent a lot of money already for kit supplies).  As soon as I can, I will purchase the tool and review it, comparing it to the original one.  Of course, if anyone wanted to send me one so the review will be posted sooner, I won't turn it down and will gush my appreciation in the review.  :D
